Philosophy
Counseling is a way of helping you to help yourself. In counseling we explore your thoughts about your situation by having open dialog in a safe environment helps you to formulate various views of your situation that can help you make different choices. Feeling safe in your environment helps you to put aside those feelings of insecurity and focus on what is really important in your situation – you.
Your therapy is a team effort. We will work to identify realistic goals for you to work towards and achieve. By working together you will be able to use me as a sounding board, provide you with different viewpoints and talk you thorough your different emotions.
By using cognitive behavior therapy we will reshape your negative cognition to positive, self-supporting cognition. We will explore how you feel about you and your ability to trust yourself in making decisions for you and how you live your life. Self awareness during therapy and by working together we will develop the ground work to become more in touch with the true you and help you to continue to grow.
This philosophy of therapy has helped a variety of clients. Couples with communication, individuals with low self-esteem, and substance abusers with the root cause of their abuse. Knowing that you are not alone in your time of self-discovery will give you a stable foundation to becoming a better you.
